ONIP – Ontario Provincial Nomination Immigration Program

Ontario is located in East Central Canada. Toronto is the capital of Ontario and it is the most populous city of Ontario. Ottawa, the capital of Canada is located in Ontario. It is the center of Canada’s economic, social and political life.

Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program is called the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

A prospective immigrant first receives a Notification letter. Then the relevant documents need to be submitted within 45 days by creating an account in Ontario website portal. Once the documents are reviewed, the applicant may receive Ontario Provincial Nomination Certificate, thus adding 600 more points to his CRS. After this the selected applicant receives the ITA (Invitation to apply) for PR Visa.

The OINP accepts applications under the following immigration categories:

• Ontario Express Entry
• International Student Category
• Business Category

Eligibility Criteria of applicants

• The profile should be in the Express Entry Pool
• A Job bank Portal should be created for the profile
• The applicant’s occupation should be in the demand list
• Minimum CRS score of the applicant should be 400

CRS score depends on the following factors

• Age, education, Work Experience, Language, Spouse Experience, Spouse language.
• The applicant’s education should be evaluated by the Word Educational Service body.
• It would be nice for the applicant to have a Job offer from an Ontario based company as it adds to the candidate’s score, however, it’s not mandatory.
